A hus­band suing his wife and his wife’s estranged lover! It is not just an ordinary and typical issue but a very complicated and serious case involving a Catholic Priest in an alleged adultery and unlawful love affair!

A former knight of the altar tagged a Catholic priest assigned at Holy Rosary Parish Church in Angeles City as ‘home wrecker’ after the man of the cloth destroyed his once happy family and turned it into a miserable one.

The former knight of the altar identified as Den Dimalanta, resident of Villa Rosario in Angeles City has formally filed charges of adultery and unjust vexation against Reverend Father Jeffrey Louie Maghirang, newly oriented priest and Arah F. Zablan, wife of the complainant before the Office of the City Prosecutor.

The Catholic Church is once again on the hot seat after a young priest from the 57-year-old Archdiocese of Pampanga failed to say no to what they treat as one of the world’s greatest ‘sin’ and engage in an unlawful love affair.

The complainant narrated that the day thereafter, Maghirang was suspended from being a priest.
He furthered that he and his wife separated and went back to their respective families, leaving their conjugal home unmanned.
“Thereafter, I confronted Fr. Maghirang as to the veracity of his iilicit affair with my wife. The priest admitted his illicit affairs with my wife but later denied the same when confronted by his superior Bishop David of Holy Rosary Parish Church.

The complainant said he has great respect to the Catholic Priesthood but the alleged immoral acts of Fr. Maghirang cannot be tolerated as he pointed out that the priest should be dismissed from priesthood.

He claimed that the priest disobeyed his vow of celibacy and obedience, disrespected his sacred family, and led an immoral life, which is contrary to his priesthood vocation.
“Continuous service of Fr. Maghirang in the priesthood would destroy the high respect of Catholics and other religious members of our society to Catholic religion,” he added.

He also said that after that day, Maghirang was quickly suspended from being a priest.
The complainant also said that during his confrontation with the priest, Father Maghirang admitted his affair with his wife, but later denied the same when he was asked by his superior Bishop Pablo David.

However, the city of prosecutor dismissed the adultery case against Father Maghirang, citing lack of evidence.
